Celebrate Spring in Amana! parade SAT 4 MAY
Parade Entry
The parade is scheduled for Saturday May 2nd at 10:00 a.m.
This year’s parade theme is, “Hope Springs Eternal”.
We will be awarding prizes for the following:
“Best Interpretation of the Theme” float
“Best Overall” float
“Most Humorous” float

Amana Woolen Mill
9am-4pm Blanket weaving & embroidery demonstrations.

Heritage Designs
All weekend. Heritage Designs’ club members present “Welcome Spring!” quilting exhibit featuring a common fabric. Identify the challenge fabric & vote for your favorite piece.

Lily Lake Birding Canoe Tour
3pm - Guided canoe tour on Lily Lake viewing birds & other wildlife that make the lake their home. Reservations required, call Amana Heritage Society at 319.622.3567. $10/person.

Art Night in the Amana Colonies
4pm-8pm – Explore behind-the-scenes as Amana Colonies’ artisans open their galleries, workshops & studios for this relaxed, self-guided evening tour. Refreshments served.

12:45pm Tapping of “Special” Maifest keg. Only one brewed each year. Proceeds go to chairity.
1pm-5pm Polka music with Dave Lasack and His Rhythm-Aires. In case of inclement weather, festivities move inside. FREE ADMISSION.

Nature & History Walk
1:30pm - Explore the flora, fauna & history of the Amana Colonies as you hike through
the Middle Amana timber with local expert guide. Tour begins at the Communal Kitchen Museum, Middle Amana. Cost: $5 per person.
